This Privacy Policy explains what personal information The Safe Cafe & Catering (a social enterprise of Street Culture Project Inc., "SCP," "we," "us") collects through our catering order website, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and what choices you have. It applies specifically to this order form and website — it does not cover information collected in person at our physical cafe or through unrelated Street Culture Project programs.

We're a small, youth-supporting social enterprise, not a law firm — this policy describes our practices in plain language. If you have questions about how your information is handled, contact us using the details at the bottom of this page.

Information we collect

When you submit a catering order request, we collect:

We only use this information to plan, prepare, price, and deliver your order, and to contact you about it — we don't ask for anything beyond what's needed for that.

How we use and share your information

Your order information is used to:

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone. To run this order system, we rely on Google Workspace (Google Sheets, Google Drive, Google Calendar, and Gmail) to store order records, generate internal prep documents, schedule events, and send you email confirmations, and the Google Maps address autocomplete feature to help you enter your event/billing address accurately. These are well-established service providers, but using them means some of your information may be processed or stored on servers outside Canada, and is subject to Google's own privacy practices (see Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy). We don't share your information with any other third party except as needed to fulfill your order (for example, if delivery requires coordinating with a driver) or where required by law.

Marketing communications

The order form includes an optional question asking if you'd like to hear about other ways to support youth in our community. If you say yes, we may follow up with you about that separately from your order — any such message will clearly identify us and include a way to opt out. Checking "No," or not responding, means we will only contact you about your order itself.

How long we keep your information

We keep order records to fulfill your order, resolve any questions afterward, and meet our own bookkeeping needs. Older order rows are periodically archived (hidden from our active view) roughly a week after the event date, but are not automatically deleted. If you'd like us to delete your information after your event has concluded, contact us using the details below and we'll do so unless we're required to keep it (for example, for tax or accounting records).

Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law (the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, or PIPEDA), you have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us below. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including relying on Google Workspace's built-in security and access controls and limiting access to order records to staff who need it to do their jobs. No online system can guarantee perfect security, but we don't collect payment card details through this website, and we aim to collect only the information we actually need.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as our order system changes. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continuing to use this order form after a change means you accept the updated policy.
